Interview with the Rival Zumblito.
For starters, educate us with some old-school lessons we need to know
Well, with oldskool there is nothing you don't already know, it's just that
you've probably forgotten it since there a wave of newskool gadgets and mods
to add on the newskool cars. Forget that the motors that can take alot of
abuse is in those oldskool cars such as the 4AG found in the Toyota Corola
Levin. You also get new versions of that motor in the FWD Levins. But the
old 4AG can take alot of abuse and likes to be driven in high rev's.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's indeed rare to see a Corolla Levin roaming the streets of
Curacao, what makes yours amazing?
I just like the sharp shape of the cars of that era (1980's/early 1990's).
That's what I've got attached to. Also most of cars that era came RWD ;-)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What fascinates you the most about old school cars?
The simple reason that it's a geniune JDM 1987 Toyota Levin, which has to
best suspension balance of it's time and still beats most of the modern day
OEM suspension that's manufactured today.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How long have you been driving Hachiroku ?
I've been driving it for about a year now. It's FUUUUUNNNN!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any feature mods you have in mind?
Oo yeah, for sure! Got to have the triple S (Sound, Style and Speed).
Coilovers, body kit, roll cage, boost...the whole charade!

As a former owner of a 1979 Starlet, I loved the way it is restored
and adored by car enthusiasts. It is the rarity of Toyota Starlet and its
possibilities
for mods that makes it stand out. What's your story?
Well mine goes back the day the car rolled out of the showroom, my uncle
bought this new 1987 Toyota Celica and being 3 years old I was just amazed
at this machine and how it looked like a ragged ass sports car with those
flip lights. A close friend of the family got himself a Corolla that same
day, and I don't know about you guys but for me the headlights are first
what I always focus on. Long story made short my cousin had a bunch of these
comics called 'Initial-D' and had my fav car in a few of the episodes (the
main character originaly had a earlier Corolla model with the flip lights).
I fell in love with it and 17 years and two cars later I own my very own
Levin.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any lesson for old-schoolers out there?
What you need to know is that your car is old and that you will need
to replace every single part in it if you're looking to add some serious
power. Be sure to make the car the way YOU want it to be, don't let nobody
tell you that your car don't look fly, sure it's their opinion but it will
stay an opinion, you have the final decision/word.

Any final words?
"RoadRivals is going to be the best site/team". Hope it will show the
progress of the Hachi in the future.
